Jen Carter Basket Fresh Cut Floral Arrangement 1 wm

I am so in love with the new Fresh Cut Flowers set!  When we first received this set several months ago I knew I would enjoy playing with it and the time has finally come to do just that!  I started by die cutting my patterned paper mat with the Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangles die.

The basket & bow (which has the most adorable stitched pattern on it!!) were die cut from the fabulous new Stitched Easter Basket Die Set.  I can see this basket used to hold so many different things and it just seemed perfect for the flowers!  I die cut the flowers from the AWESOME Fresh Cut Flowers die set and then stamped the coordinating Fresh Cut Flowers stamps on them.  Many of the stamps have two to three stamping layers that you can use if you'd like.  The sentiment is from another new stamp set called Egg & Flower Greetings Stamp Set.

For my 2nd card, I used the same Fresh Cut Flowers Stamp set & Fresh Cut Flowers dies to create a frame for my sentiment that I had stamped on to a panel die cut from the Silly Stitched Die Set.  I stamped the flowers in much brighter ink colors than my first card and it gives them a totally different look!  LOVE them!  The sentiment is from the Greetings & Salutations stamp set.

Did you notice the green chevron background paper?  That is from a new paper pack, called Easter Greetings!  It has some great prints in it for Easter & Spring!

My last project for today again uses the  Fresh Cut Flowers stamps & coordinating Fresh Cut Flowers dies to decorate up another new product making its debut to the Lil' Inker Designs store!

Felt Bookmark

I put together another felt project using a die by Frantic Stamper called Bunny Butt.  I know, I know...funny name!  :)

Jen Carter Bunny Butt Bookmark 2

I die cut the various Bunny Butt die cut pieces out of felt.  I die cut two of the whole die out of gray felt and glued the two pieces together to the large paper clip using one for the front and one for the back.  This clip measures a little over 3 1/2" long.

This would be such a cute gift or a fun clip to include on the top of a package!  You could also make a fun barrette out of this die too!

Thanks for joining me!

Bunny Barrettes

Hello everyone!  I wanted to share some projects I made using Spring/Easter dies from Frantic Stamper and some felt.  For today's felt projects I'm going to share three different barrettes I made for my daughter and I'll show you pictures of her modeling them too!

This picture shows all three barrettes that I'm going to share in more detail below.  You can see that on two of them I stitched the felt pieces together with a sewing machine (you could use needle & thread too) and the other one I used hot glue on.

Jen Carter Felt Bunny Hair Barrettes Pink Bobby Pin

For this one I used the Large Marshmallow Bunny die and a large bobby pin that has a circle on the back to attach your project onto. To attach the felt bunny I hot glued it to the circle but you could also hide the circle inside the bobby pin and sew.

I used a small piece of black felt between the pink layers so that it would show the eyes and nose.  I also used the sewing machine to add the yellow ears.  To attach the flower sequin I used a French Knot.

Jen Carter Sadie Pink Bunny

This is my sweet daughter modeling it (on a very windy day).

Jen Carter Felt Bunny Hair Barrettes Bunny Back Bunny 2

Next up is the same die Large Marshmallow Bunny but I used it as the back of the bunny.  I cut a hole with my crop-a-dile to attached the brad (which turned as I was sewing and I didn't realize it, it was straight when I started). I sewed past where the brad went and then inserted it and continued sewing.  To attach the barrette I used thread and a needle to stitch it on to the backside.

And again my daughter modeling.

And last I used the Bunny Back die and instead of sewing it I used hot glue to put her together. I cut off the whiskers on the back layer of the bunny so that they lined up properly.  I used the face from the Large Marshmallow Bunny die and it fit perfectly.  I also hot glued the flower sequin to her head.

And again the cutest little girl. :)

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you feel inspired!  I'll have more felt projects to share at a later time.

Guess How Much?

Frantic Stamper is having another new release and this one is Easter themed. Products are currently available for pre-order here and will ship on February 15th.  You can see a video with all of the products from this release and also a sneak peek of several more of my projects that I'll be showcasing soon on my blog on Frantic Stamper's new YouTube channel.

I wanted to share with you my favorite card that I made with the release items.  One of my favorite books to read to my kids is "Guess How Much I Love You".  When I first saw some of the bunnies from this release it immediately made me think of the book and I wanted to recreate a scene from it.  The theme of the card will work great for Valentine's Day or for a child or for a baby card too.

Jen Carter Bunnies Love Moon Back

I started by watercoloring the background on a piece of watercolor paper that I had die cut with the Elementals 1 Panel die.

Jen Carter Bunnies Love Moon Back Closeup 2

I made sure to leave space at the top of my panel to stamp my sentiment which is from a stamp set that I can't seem to put down called Sentiments from Space.  It worked perfectly for what I was trying to accomplish by tying the card in with the book.  I also added the stamped image of the moon from the same set.

Jen Carter Bunnies Love Moon Back Closeup 1

I die cut the larger bunny with the new Assorted Bunnies die set.  There were 5 bunnies to choose from in this set but this one was the best to replicate the book cover.  I then die cut one of the small bunnies from the Bunnies Confetti die set.  To color the bunnies, I use a white gel pen for the tummies and tail and watercolor paints for the pink ears.  I inserted black cardstock for the largest bunnies eye and used a black pen to color his nose.  For the smallest bunny I used a black pen for the nose & eye.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you have a great day!

Eskimo Cool!

Jen Carter So Cool 1 wm

Today's card was so fun to create!  I love these papers from Doodlebug Designs called Polar Pals!

I started by die cutting the Cover Up Die: Snowflakes from Lil' Inker Designs with white glitter paper.  I layered that over a piece of plaid patterned paper.

I used one of the Dotted Tags Dies to die cut the turquoise tag and also to die cut the patterned paper to match.  I stamped the sentiment from the newly updated stamp set, Sunshine Sentiments which has some seriously cute sentiment options!

Love You to Pieces

Can you believe that we are so close to Valentine's Day already?  Which also means we are halfway through February?  It's crazy how fast the first of the year has gone already!

Today the card I have to share is made using a fun puzzle die!

Jen Carter Puzzle Love Pieces

I started by finding a piece of patterned paper that I thought would make a nice scene for a puzzle.  Then I used a stamp set from Frantic Stamper called Puzzle Me to stamp the sentiment in the upper right hand corner.

Jen Carter Puzzle Love Pieces Closeup

I then used the Nine Piece Puzzle Panel to cut the pieces apart.  There is a outline to this die that makes the pieces fit perfectly together but I wanted a slightly more artistic look for this card so I chose to forgo using that piece this time.  I matted each piece on top of a coordinating piece of cardstock with dimensionals.

I'm entering this is the CASology Challenge to make a Valentine's Day card.

Thank you for stopping by!  Hope you enjoyed the card!

Happy Birthday Peek a Boo Card

Jen Carter Happy Birthday Candle 2

Hey everyone!  I pulled out some dies that I haven't had a chance to play with to put together a fun birthday card.  I started by cutting the "Happy" out of the front of my card (Happy Card Band Die).  There are so many ways to use this die, but it seems absolutely perfect to use for a birthday! I used the Celebration stamp set to stamp the candle and the little candle "sparkles" around the flame.  I love that little sparkle stamp!  It is such a great element!

Jen Carter Happy Birthday Candle Closeup 2

I wanted to show you a picture of the card with the background peeking through a little better.  The striped paper is adhered to the inside of the card.

The birthday word is cut from glitter paper and is one of two dies in the Happy Birthday Script die set.  The little balloon flying away is from the cute Birthday Icons die set.

Thanks for joining me today!

P.S.  Here's a look at the Celebration stamp set!  I love the sentiments and fonts!

XOXO

Jen Carter XOXO Love

Did you have a chance to check out the newest release from Lil' Inker Designs last week?  If not, I hope you'll take a look!  This card features some of the newest products.

I used two of the patterned papers from the new Love You Paper Pack.  Aren't they cute?  The best thing is that they are only $3.75 in the store!  For my white frame, I die cut the cardstock first with one of the dies from the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles dies.   Then, I used one of the new Dual Dotted Hearts dies to cut out the heart shape.  That was backed with paper from the Love You Paper Pack.

The sentiment, from Love Things Stamps, was foiled onto a black strip die cut with one of the Pinking Edge Sentiment Flag dies.  I strung a piece of solid Charcoal twine through the holes in the heart.

I'm entering this card in the Can You Case It Color Challenge.
