Fancy Deer, Take Two

I know, it's not even Halloween yet and I'm sharing another Christmas card!

Jen Carter Merry Christmas Deer

For this card I started by cutting the border with the Lattice Card Band die from Frantic Stamper. I backed it with gold glitter paper and then added in a few pieces of cardstock in random places to create interest.  I next stamped two trees from the Triangle Trees clear stamp set in colors to match the cardstock squares.

Next, I created a stencil using the Snowfall Reverse Cut Die.  After creating my stencil with white cardstock I used white texture paste to create the snowflake dimension.  I added in some random glitter snowflakes as well.

I used the deer that I cut out from the panel I used on this card, cut from the Large Fancy Deer die.  The sentiment was heat embossed with gold powder and is also from the Triangle Trees clear stamp set.

Thank you for visiting today!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thankful in Gold

Today as I type this, my husband is outside painting our house (navy blue!  taking a chance!) and the leaves are falling all around.  At times it almost sounds like it is raining.  I had to put on a long sleeve shirt because it was cooler than I thought!  It's definitely (finally) feeling like Fall in Kansas!

So what is more appropriate on a day like today than a Fall card, right?

Jen Carter So Thankful Gold White 3 wm

This one is so incredibly simple but I really like it & it's going to a special person.

I used one of the Lil' Inker Designs stitched Leaf Love Dies to cut out the leaf shape.  I stamped the sentiment from the coordinating stamp set Leafy Greetings in Versamark Ink & then embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I covered the end of the stem in the VersaMark ink and dipped it in the gold embossing powder.

To finish the card off I used a piece of gold striped metallic paper and added a piece of Gold Shimmer Twine around the bottom.

I'm entering this card in the SSS: Monday Challenge Throwback.  I am using the Autumn is in the Air challenge from Oct 5th.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Embossing with a Die

Welcome!  Today I have two cards to share and a video tutorial on how I completed the cards.

I am using an every day non-holiday die and using it to create holiday cards.

Jen Carter Merry Christmas USA 1

I started my aqua panel by cutting the frame with an Elementals #1 die.  I then used the USA Map die to cut the negative from the inside of the frame.  This frame was popped up with dimensionals.  I stamped four different sizes of snowflakes from the Round Christmas Vignettes stamp set with an Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder. I love the little shine it added to the card.

I explain in the video below how to emboss the inside of the map instead of cutting it out.  It is really quite easy using an embossing mat and your die cutting machine.  To create the banner I used one of the Wavy Banners dies and embossed the sentiment from Triangle Trees on it.  I spread the banner out on my card rather than tucking it under like I normally would.

Hopefully the video explained my process well!

Jen Carter Sending Happy Thoughts USA 1

This is the "fall" version of the Christmas card above, that I put together on the video.  I basically did the same thing as I did on the first card.  *On a side note, I have to add how much I like this patterned paper! We are in the process of painting our house navy blue with white trim and a yellow door!  I love the little blue house on this paper!

The sentiment on this card comes from the Scribble Flowers #1 stamp set.

A Second Spring

I love watching the leaves turn colors.  It is such a beautiful time of the year!  It is also a reminder that each day holds a new promise, new possibilities, a fresh start.  I thought the sentiment I used on this card sums up Autumn perfectly!

Jen Carter Autumn Leaves 1 wm

For this card I cut three of the cool Leaf Love Dies from Lil' Inker Designs from patterned paper.  I embossed the sentiment that is stamped from the Leafy Greetings stamp set in copper embossing powder.  I love how the sentiments fit on the leaf dies!  So clever!  I popped the yellow sentiment leaf up on top of the other two for a little added dimension.

I punched a couple small holes in my layers that I had popped up and tied Copper Shimmer Twine through the holes into a bow.

Christmas Snow

I have another Christmas card to share today.

Jen Carter Peach Merry Christmas 2

I embossed the Christmas trees in gold that are from Frantic Stamper's Triangle Trees stamp set.  I really like the options in this set!  There are several sizes of shapes in several different patterns.  It also has some great scripted sentiments in the set!  Have you checked it out?  The sentiment on this card, which I embossed in white, is from the Round Christmas Vignettes stamp set.  I die cut white glitter paper from the Hill with Pine Trees Edger die and then popped it up on my card panel.  To add a little more visual interest, I used my Scor-Pal Buddy to score a couple of lines on my cardfront.

Happy Boss's Day

Hey everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather!  It has been beautiful here but like it is in Kansas, it is up and down temperature wise a lot. My daughter and I have a little bit of a struggle some mornings on clothing choices because while it may be warmer in the afternoon, mornings can be quite cool.  She sure has her own mind on what she wants to wear!  Do you have that at your house? :)

In the office we celebrated Boss's day a little early since we have Friday off at school.  I was privileged to make the card for this occasion that I put together last week.  The cake that was being made was going to be Fall themed with leaves and so I made a "Fallish", of sorts, card to go along with the theme.  For some reason though, I doubt very much that the leaves on the cake will be pink, lol!

Jen Carter Boss's Day Celebrate Shaker front

I started by creating the dark brown & white striped piece by using one of the fun new leaf shape dies from Lil' Inker Designs called Leaf Love.  Oh how I LOVE the shape of this leaf!

After I attached the transparent paper to the back of the leaf piece and filled it with fall colored sequins, I backed it with a piece of patterned paper slightly larger than the leaf panel. I tied the entire panel with some antique thread.

The sentiment is so pretty and comes from the Just Sayin' Stamps.  I embossed it with Brown Sugar Zing Embossing Powder.   The whole panel is attached to the word patterned paper panel that I cut out with the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles die.

Thanks for visiting today!

Fancy Deer

Hello everyone!  Today I have a holiday card to share.  For this one I used the negative part of the die cut as my main image and was able to get two cards from one cut (I'll share the 2nd card at a later date).

Jen Carter Fancy Deer Seasons Greetings Front

I just love mint, white & kraft paired together!  To create this card I used the new Large Fancy Deer die from Frantic Stamper and cut it out of a piece of textured kraft cardstock. I added a red enamel dot to the nose for a pop of color.  I die cut the frame from the Elementals #1 set of dies to create the mint polka dotted mat which I then popped the negative deer panel up from.  I die cut the sentiment banner from the Diagonal Card Sketcher  die set and stamped "Season's Greetings" with the clear Round Christmas Vignettes stamp set.

Can you see the white lumpy snowflakes on the background of the light gray cardstock?  To create this I used the Snowflake Reverse Cut die and cut a piece of white cardstock with it to use as a stencil.  I then took some texture paste (like this) and used an old gift card to spread it around on my stencil being sure to hold the paper still.  Once I carefully removed the stencil, I let my snowflakes dry and then adhered the rest of the cardfront on top of it.  It takes a little time, but I sure like the look of those snowflakes!

I have three more projects to share with you today.  I know, project heavy this release but there were so many great new products to play with! :)

Jen Carter Merry Bright 1 wm

This is probably my favorite card that I made from the entire release, and one of the easiest!  I cut the gorgeous new Merry & Bright Holiday Greeting Die from white cardstock and backed it with gold & white striped paper.

Jen Carter Merry Bright Closeup 1

I used one of the previously released stitched Snowflake Dies which are GORGEOUS :) that I cut out of gold glitter paper & adhered to the corner as an accent.  Pretty simple!

Jen Carter Angel Joy 1 wm

I really like Christmas sets that focus on the true meaning of Christmas and this new Ornamental Christmas stamp set does not disappoint!  I die cut the angel with the coordinating Ornamental Christmas dies and then stamped the angel from the set and embossed it in gold.

Jen Carter Angel Joy Closeup 2

I die cut a mat for the card with the Stitched Mats: Side Stitched Rectangle Die and wrapped a piece that I die cut from Kraft cardstock using the Cover Up Die: Dotted Scallops.  I tied the angel piece on with red shimmer twine.  I stamped the sentiment on the bottom, another gorgeous sentiment, from the All the Christmas You'll Ever Need stamp set which is FULL of wonderful Christmas sentiments!  The font from this set just makes me happy! :)

I also thought that this idea would work well as a napkin ring for a place setting on a table.

Jen Carter Angel Joy Napkin Ring 1 wm

For this I just adapted my card from above using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set & the coordinating Ornamental Christmas dies to die cut and stamp the angel again.

I also die cut the "Joy" with the Christmas Word Tag Trio dies from red glitter paper. I tied the angel, joy tag & bells on with red shimmer twine.
